Babe Ruth Biography – Life and Death
Born to German-American parents in a neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland, George Herman “Babe” Ruth, Jr. was quoted as saying he had a rough childhood. Babe Ruth Softball – The Background
The nonprofit Babe Ruth League Incorporated established a softball division in 1984 to train and sharpen the skills of girls as young as five and as old as eighteen. The Babe Ruth Softball Division works with local leagues across the United States and Canada, working its way up to the state and regional divisions to provide education and guidance to young female baseball players. It hosts a tournament trail every year as well as the World Series for the 12 years and under division as well as the 16 and under division, playing off regional champions in the U.S. and Canada. The organization sponsors housing, meals and transportation costs during the World Series.
